What’s Happenin’ !!! Candlelight Vigil for Taevon 'Tater' and Michael Miles!!!!! A candlelight vigil will be held outside their former home, 166 S. Hyde Park Ave., in Scranton, PA's West Side,on Wednesday, July 21st, 2010, to remember 9-year-old Taevon (Tater) and 10-year-old Michael Miles. It will have been 1 year since the boys took their untimely trip to be with our Lord. 499+ are still with you two....from all over the world. Many that would have befriended you, had u still been with us, and many, many more! Tater....I know that the first Falcon tackle this year will be made by you, along with one of the other boys...and am sure that Michael will be there, cheering you/us all on..... If you have a 2008 or newer background check you will not be require to get one. Football:  All you have to do is bring a copy of your clearances to the Board to review.  Cheer:  All you have to do is bring a copy of your clearances, along with your Cheer Coaching Application, to the Board for review. On Friday night, August 21, 2009, the former West Scranton quarterback received a full scholarship from coach Joe Paterno, McGloin's parents confirmed. A redshirt freshman who joined the team as a preferred walk-on in 2008, McGloin is competing for the backup quarterback job behind all-Big Ten starter Daryll Clark this preseason.   Falcon Coaches: Heroes of the Philly Suburbs! Making a very scary negative into a positive....   C Team coaches Billy Stetzar and Timmy Gaul were involved in a totally unexpected rescue effort that saved the life of a 4 year old boy and his Uncle, after flash flooding hit the area by their hotel, during a Little League tournament in the Philadelphia suburbs the weekend of August 2nd.  Billy & Timmy were there to coach their sons, Cole and Matt, and had only anticipated an exciting weekend of the small ball.  After getting a few games under their belt, things took a turn for the worse.  Heavy rains moved very quickly in the entire Philadelphia region, subsequently causing a nearby creek to overflow, and eventually turning the road by their hotel into a raging river.  In a short period of time, cars were being overtaken by muddy waters.  The sudden shout of "Kid in the water!", set them off, and our boys jumped right into action, putting their own safety on the back burner.  Billy and another man jumped into the quickly moving water to save the Uncle, who had gone under.  Tim, shortly thereafter, finally saw the little boy pop up, and took the plunge, saving the lad from being swept away.   Many in Scranton knew the gang was in Philly, that it included many Falcon parents and players, and that Mother Nature was throwing them a wicked curve ball.  When news of the flooding reached us, our hearts were tested again, way too soon.  With all power out, cell phones were useless once their batteries ran out of juice.  Thankfully, word finally arrived that all were OK!    As a family, our pride has always been attached to our kids, first and foremost...but, this time, the elder 'boys' truly have us beaming! Great job guys!  You are the best, and we are very fortunate to have the both of you involved in our organization!!!!  Let's hope this is the last emotional trip the Falcons have to make this year...well, at least until the Super Bowl! L: Coach Billy & Cole R: Coach Timmy & Matt  THE BEST!!!!! 10-2-9 Heavy Hearts... Tragedy struck the Falcon family on the morning of July 21, 2009, the day before practice was to begin for the 2009 season. Fire struck the double home that served as the residence of two Falcon Families (three players), the Miles’ and the Clarke’s. Lost in the fire was Taevon “Tater” Miles, a 9 year old cornerback from the ‘D’ Squad, who would have been moving up to the ‘C’ Team this year.  His 10 year old brother, Michael, also perished.  The Miles family lost everything in the fire. The Clarke family, who lived in the other side of the home, escaped without injury, but also lost all of their possessions.
